Congregational Care

Congregational Care Ministry is all about connection and compassion. The Care Team offers prayer and compassionate care for Centerville UMC members as well as individuals that participate in the life of the church. By allowing God to use our minds, hearts and hands to serve those in need, we hope to encourage them to feel connected to Him and to Centerville UMC.

For years the focal point of our mission was to visit those in hospital, rehab facilities or those bound to their homes. That hasn’t changed although our reach has grown considerably. We now lead a worship celebration at Sycamore Glen Retirement Center the first Monday of each month. Our card ministry (we especially enjoy celebrating new babies), handcrafted prayer shawls and Care Crosses are offered to those in need. The Prayer Team offers House Blessings, an annual Pet Blessing, anointing and focused prayer along with supporting special events.

Many ministries fall under the umbrella of Congregational Care. Those include but are not limited to Prayer Shawl Ministry, Widow’s Fellowship, Funeral Support and the Prayer Team.
