To support mission projects locally, nationally and around the world, funds are raised through individual Pledges to Mission and 2 annual fundraisers. Each fall for more than 40 years, members, friends and family gather to make peanut brittle for 5 weeks. In early December there is a Cookie Walk and Craft Sale.
THE PURPOSE OF UNITED METHODIST WOMEN
The organized unit of United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ, to develop a creative, supportive fellowship, and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church. All members are encouraged to participate in the various activities by which we fulfill the Purpose. We offer both group and individual opportunities for prayer, study, service, mission outreach, fellowship and fun.
Our quarterly gatherings held in March, June, September and December offer a mix of education and celebration, with time for food and fellowship. We sponsor a spiritual retreat for women once a year. The resources of our own UMW library are available to participants in the yearly Reading Program. Our members participate in many UMW activities sponsored by the Miami Valley District and the West Ohio Conference of the United Methodist Church.
We look forward to having you attend one of our events and become involved with Centerville United Methodist Women.
